Executive Bio: Dr. Tanya Scott Cannady Dr. Tanya Scott Cannady is a nationally recognized nurse executive, strategist, and systems innovator with more than 30 years of experience transforming complex healthcare environments across the United States. A registered nurse with deep clinical, operational, and multicultural expertise, she has built her career as a bold disruptor—one who anticipates emerging trends, forges high‑impact partnerships, and designs future‑ready solutions that strengthen organizational performance, equity, and sustainability. A visionary thinker, Dr. Scott Cannady is the creator of the Connected Health Economy (CHE) Theory, an innovative model that reimagines how people, technology, and care ecosystems interact. CHE leverages the universal human drive for connection to expand digital access, enhance communication, and elevate care coordination across patient communities. Her pioneering work extends into Connected Cannabis Care, a next‑generation framework that integrates therapeutic cannabis care, policy evolution, and culturally competent communication to advance equitable, stigma‑free healthcare for cannabis consumers nationwide. Her leadership extends beyond innovation into governance and organizational transformation. As a former board member of the AHIMA Foundation, Dr. Scott Cannady helped establish foundational governance structures during a period of administrative transition, navigating complex cultural dynamics and rebuilding systems that strengthened board effectiveness. Her career reflects a consistent ability to unite diverse stakeholders, stabilize shifting environments, and architect solutions that endure. In 2023, she was elected to the national Board of Directors for the American Cannabis Nurses Association (ACNA)—a nursing specialty recognized by the American Nurses Association—where she served on the Executive Board as Treasurer. She is widely regarded as a national subject matter expert in Cannabis Care, Connected Cannabis Communities, and the intersection of digital health, policy, and patient advocacy. Dr. Scott Cannady’s commitment to healing extends into her volunteer and public education work, where she travels across the country advancing conversations on healthcare autonomy, mental health, geriatric therapeutics, and plant‑based healing. Her mission is grounded in expanding access to high‑quality, affordable, patient‑centered care by reducing barriers, elevating evidence‑based innovation, and building inclusive, culturally responsive communities. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Nursing Leadership from the University of San Francisco, a Master’s degree in Multi‑Cultural Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University. She has completed a certificate in Medical Cannabis and plans to pursue a master’s degree in Medical Cannabis Therapeutics. She remains an active member of ACNA, contributing to the Equity, Inclusion & Diversity and Finance Committees. Outside of her professional work, Dr. Scott Cannady embraces a vibrant life on her Northern California ranch, where she and her husband—Cowboy and YouTube influencer Raymond Cannady—train horses and explore the region’s scenic trails on horseback. Her life reflects the same values that define her leadership: connection, courage, curiosity, and a deep commitment to community.
